Under-floor Heating and Cooling

There is nothing quite like getting up in the morning to a warm house with the added comfort of a toasty-warm floor, when outside it’s cold, wet and windy; that's what a Greentec System will give you.

Underfloor heating provides an invisible heat for the home, with no ugly, obtrusive radiators to dictate where furniture has to be sited. It is by far the best way of heating a house - especially when connected to a Heat Pump. This is because underfloor heating requires far lower temperatures to heat the home than conventional radiators. The Heat Pump is perfect for this, as it is an extremely efficient way of getting a gentle low heat into the water that runs through the underfloor heating pipes, which are part of the very fabric of the building, i.e. in the concrete floor. When we gently heat the floor’s concrete screed, it creates a large thermal heat store within the floor’s concrete mass. As the Heat Pump heats the home 24 hours a day in the winter, this thermal mass gets warm and stays warm; it then only needs small amounts of heat to keep it warm, which reduces the home’s running costs and increases the overall efficiency of our heating system.

The Heat Pump's built-in intelligence only gives the home as much heat as it needs - so the colder it gets outside, the warmer the underfloor heating will get; it does the opposite as the weather gets warmer. This gives the greatest efficiencies and comfort levels, keeping each room at the temperature set on its thermostat.

Another possible benefit was reported to us by a homeowner in Surrey, who no longer has to shoo the dog off his favourite armchair - Benjy is more than happy to sleep on the floor now.
