External or Outside Air Heat Pump

If it is not possible to install a ground loop, or the property is too big for an Exhaust Air Heat Pump, we can then recommend the installation of an Outside Air Heat Pump.

This is the easiest to install of all the Heat Pumps and in retrofit installations can show immediate cost savings. The way the system works is by converting the energy of the outside air into heat to create hot water or heat your property, providing a comfortable temperature inside the house.

The systems have been designed to work with radiator-based heating and are well suited for use in retrofit installations.

They operate down to an outside temperature of -10 and can cover a home's heating requirements all year round, however, in the coldest of areas, these Outside Air Heat Pumps may not be able to heat your house all the year round - in which case we would recommend them to be used in tandem with a traditional gas- or oil-fired back-up boiler.

These Heat Pumps offer outstanding economic and environmental benefits, especially if being used to heat a swimming pool. In larger properties, to reduce your energy bills by as much as 50%, they can be installed to work in parallel with your existing oil-fired, electric or gas boiler.
